Global property consultancy Knight Frank has relocated its Shanghai operations to Puxi’s first LEED Gold Grade A office building, Eco-City, a move that aligns the company’s business strategy with its environmental strategy.
Knight Frank will be moving into Eco City to accommodate fast growing staff numbers and business expansion. The company recently established two new service lines, International Project Marketing and Landlord Project Services. The company has grown significantly in the past 6 months as staff headcount increased by almost 30 percent with experienced talent joining across all major and new business lines.
Knight Frank’s relocation is not only a reflection of the company’s larger business plan, but also the strategy of the firm as a whole to minimise its carbon footprint. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and it is the recognised standard of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and of many other nations around the world. With LEED Gold status, Eco City stands true to its goals of energy conservation, carbon reduction and sustainable growth. Developed by Taiwan’s Sunpower Progressive Development & Construction, Eco City incorporates such elements as chargeable vehicle parking lots, LED lighting, LOW-E window walls, the use of reclaimed water and a fresh-air AC system to meet the requirements for the highest LEED status.
With the recent completion of Wheelock Square and the development of Kerry Plaza as well as a vibrant retail platform in the building, Eco City sits at the heart of Jing’an District’s CBD and has attracted some of the world’s top Fortune 500 companies.
“Relocating operations to Eco City is an important step for Knight Frank’s development,” commented Managing Director, Graham Zink. “By providing an efficient workplace and accommodating our plans for even more growth, Eco City is parallel with our vision of being the leading provider of professional property services in Greater China. Being able to do this and minimise our carbon footprint in the process is a unique opportunity in this marketplace.”
